✨ Have a look at my six-packs & Part 3 of my Writing Reveal ✨

Hello Booklover,

Happy SSS - Second September Sunday!

That said, I have another little reveal about my writing life, my fave authors, classic and contemporary books and book series, and my fave music and musicians.

Part 3 of My Writing Reveals

With Meredith Wild, I share the love of Corporate Power Negotiation CEO World. I don’t fob my readers off with Bad Brody Bastardino is CEO of Bastardino International who leaves for the office each morning and comes back home in the evening (or even earlier cos he so missed her). Nope. I want to see Bastardino CEO-ing in that emergency boardroom meeting to fend off a hostile takeover. I want to see how he reacts when the bank refused him the X-billion loan for his new project. And yes, I know some readers couldn’t care less. It’s enough that he’s titled CEO. So my books are far more corporate and psychologically mature. I include global luxury, powerful men, intelligent heroines, emotional trauma and commercial pacing, which tends to shove my romance to the arena of Romantic Suspense. Or cold Thriller heroes with governmental licence to kill who also fall hard for the women who bring them to their knees.

Julie James romances, like mine, involve lawyers, A-type professionals, competence attraction rather than alpha-billionaire cliché physical attraction and Neanderthal behavious. JJ reels in FBI (I tap into MI5 and MI6 or elite British military spies – a tuff I know). I shun tattoos and naked male six-packs, preferring other motifs or the smart Savile Row bespoke suite for my covers. And there’s no way my heroine is going to be rescued by a man if she’s trapped in the jaws of a whale. She'd do something about her situation herself. The point is that girls' literature tell them they're damsels in distress and prince charming will one day arrive in his white charger to rescue them. Boys are given James Bond and Jason Bourne. They have agency. I give my heroines agency, not matter their station in life. There’s a difference between assisting someone and rescuing them.

Emma Chase delights me with executive heroes and high-powered dialogue even if hers are a lot lighter than mine. A reader recently told me that the “closes feel” in my dialogue “reminds me more of the TV series Suits than of a contemporary romance” and she named Harvey, Donna, Jessica and Mike. “That intelligence-first attraction.”

While Sylvia Day has that international lifestyle and high-end emotional tension, Jodi Ellen Malpas, wows me by the emotionally dominant heroes and intense explicit erotic scenes. What I often wish for are professionally stronger heroines and more restrained dialogue. But she’s not me.

That, I guess, is my métier.

I’ll be back next week with my fave foods, pet peeves & co.

Till soon, Stay choosy – you owe it to yourself!

Have a great Sunday and week ahead. ❤

Always with fondness,

Teil 3: Einblicke in mein Schreiben

THE VON K’ORY CONFIDENTIAL Books, wickedness & everything between the lines

A P von K’Ory writes steamy New Adult and contemporary romance, high-stakes corporate fiction, and thrillers set in the rarefied worlds of the ultrarich, aristocracy, power, and privilege. Lately, she has planted both feet firmly in dark romance, exploring the darker edges of power, privilege, obsession and desire—where psychological warfare can be every bit as dangerous as physical violence. An embarrassingly generous amount of her own life—and her family’s—has a habit of finding its way into her fiction. A journalist and blogger as well as a novelist, she has travelled extensively across the world, weaving the places, cultures, people, and experiences she encounters into both her fiction and her political and humanitarian nonfiction. She loves talking about writing and storytelling, books, culture, and international entertainment—and occasionally about which parts of her novels she absolutely refuses to admit really happened. Hello Booklover, I promised the luxury cover reveal. Out of GOLDEN SHANA series, a beautiful butterfly popped out. Revised and renamed PRIMAL LIMITS. Those of me who know me closely are aware that I avoid those lovely naked male abs and pecs branded with tattoos. What do you say to the luxury cover? All 5 books of the series follow the same theme. Enjoy the cover and the blurb. That's it for today, precious ones. Stay choosy - you owe it to yourself. I wish you a great Sunday and New Week...

Hello Booklover, This is more for my German readers and the English language readers who also love to dip into German editions. Unfortunately there was formatting problems with the paperback and hardcover editions of Unbezähmbare Begierde, the German title for Her Untameable Lust of the UNTAMEABLE series. I'll let you know as soon as these editions are ready and published. I'm sincerely sorry for the inconvenience. Stay choosy - you owe it to yourself. I wish you a great Sunday and New Week...

Hello Booklover, Yes, I did miss you in the last three weeks. But all is back to Life Goes On again. How have you precious ones been doing? To today's topic... This really is a plague. Dozens of these scammers every day. No matter how often I delete and block them, they seem to multiply. Like the Hydra: every time I chop off one head, several more grow in its place. The more I delete and block, the more of these emails I receive. Most of them also sound suspiciously generic, which makes them...
